1. Agreement to these terms
By activating, installing, or using MTK Time (the “Software”), you agree to this License Agreement and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not activate or use the Software.
You must be at least 18 years old to activate the current public version.
2. Free license grant
MTK grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use MTK Time at no charge for lawful personal or business time-tracking purposes.
No purchase, subscription, or manual approval is required. Each activated installation receives its own license and installation identifiers.
3. Activation and registration
Activation requires your full name, age, country, state or region, acceptance of this agreement, and acknowledgment of the Privacy Notice. You agree to provide accurate information.
The Software activates locally immediately. It then attempts to register the activation with MTK automatically. If the service is temporarily unavailable, your local license remains active and registration retries in the background.
4. Your work data
Timer sessions, tasks, clients, projects, and notes are stored locally by default. License registration does not include that work content. If you separately configure MTK Data synchronization, that separate feature and its applicable terms govern the data you choose to sync.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your local data and checking exported records before relying on them for billing, payroll, tax, or legal purposes.
5. Product announcements
You may separately choose to receive occasional, clearly labeled MTK and C-ARCH product announcements inside the Software. This choice is not required for the license. You can dismiss a message or turn announcements off in Settings at any time.
6. Updates
MTK Time can check an official release manifest and tell you when a newer Windows installer is available. You choose whether to open the download and install it. Updates may modify, improve, replace, or remove functionality.
7. Restrictions
You may not:
- sell, sublicense, rent, or distribute the Software except with MTK’s written permission;
- bypass activation, security, update, or usage controls;
- use the Software to violate law or another person’s rights;
- reverse engineer or modify the Software except where applicable law expressly permits it.
8. Ownership and third-party components
MTK and its licensors retain all rights in the Software, branding, and related materials except for the limited license granted above. Included open-source components remain governed by their own license notices.
9. Availability and disclaimer
The Software is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. MTK does not promise uninterrupted availability or that the Software will meet every accounting, billing, employment, or compliance need.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MTK will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities arising from use of the Software. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Termination
This license ends if you materially violate this agreement. When it ends, you must stop using and uninstall the Software. Provisions intended to survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations—continue to apply.
12. Changes
MTK may update this agreement for future releases. A material change will use a new agreement version, and the Software may ask you to review and accept it before continued use of that release.
