1. Scope
This Privacy Notice applies to the MTK Time Windows application, its free license-registration service, its update and announcement manifests, and this website. “MTK,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of MTK Time.
2. Information collected for activation
When you activate the free license, MTK Time registers:
- your full name;
- your age;
- your country and state or region;
- a pseudonymous installation ID and free license ID;
- the application, License Agreement, and Privacy Notice versions;
- the activation time and your product-announcement preference.
The installation ID is derived from the application’s existing local device identifier. MTK Time does not read or transmit a Windows product key, BIOS identifier, motherboard serial number, or disk serial number for licensing.
3. Work information that stays local
License registration does not send your timer sessions, task names, project names, client names, notes, exports, or local backup files. That work data stays on your PC unless you separately configure MTK Data synchronization or another export destination.
4. Network and service information
When the application or website contacts MTK services, hosting providers may process standard request information such as IP address, date and time, request path, response status, and basic device or browser information. This information is used for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
5. How MTK uses the information
MTK may use the information described above to:
- activate and maintain the free license;
- associate the license with one installation and prevent misuse;
- provide release information and help troubleshoot update delivery;
- understand broad user age and regional patterns;
- select and deliver occasional MTK or C-ARCH product announcements when you have enabled them;
- protect the service, keep records, and comply with applicable law.
MTK does not use your local work-session content to select product announcements.
6. Your announcement choice
Product announcements are separate from accepting the license. The activation screen lets you choose whether to see them. You can change that choice later in Settings. Turning them off does not deactivate MTK Time.
7. Legal grounds
Depending on the law where you live, MTK may process activation information to provide the license you requested, based on your consent, for legitimate service and security interests, or to meet legal obligations. Optional announcements are controlled by your separate choice in the application.
8. Sharing
MTK may share limited information with infrastructure, hosting, security, and support providers that help operate MTK Time; when required by law; or as part of a legitimate business transfer. Providers should receive only what they need for their role. MTK does not sell your activation information.
9. Retention
Activation records may be kept while the license service operates and for a reasonable period afterward for security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Operational request logs are generally kept for a shorter period appropriate to security and troubleshooting needs. Local work data remains on your PC until you edit or delete it.
10. Security
MTK uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent where consent applies. You can disable announcements directly in MTK Time Settings.
For a privacy request, contact privacy@mtkwebs.com. MTK may need to verify your request using the information associated with your activation.
12. Age requirement
The current public version is intended for adults age 18 or older and does not knowingly accept license activation by children.
13. Changes to this notice
MTK may update this notice when the product or its data practices change. A new notice will show a revised effective date and version. Material changes may also be presented in the application.
